Frenchies Design is the label for clothing designed and made by Claire French.

Claire has extensive experience working with textiles. She started on the production lines of manufacturers making night wear and underwear for a major high-street retailer. She moved on to work on the production line for a parachute manufacturer, a job where attention to detail and high quality means saving lives. Here, Claire worked closely with the Research and Development team, developing and making parachutes for a space probe.

Claire then qualified from a City and Guilds course in preparing working designs and fashion; this involved learning everything from design, textiles, pattern making and cutting, and sewing, to making the finished garment.

Following her City and Guilds course, Claire because a design assistant for motorcycle leathers manufacturer. Here her job involved assisting the designer and cutter in preparing and organising works, making samples, helping the machinists with problems and helping with production.

When not working, Claire has kept designing and making clothing, including costumes for dance competitions and a Glam Rock tribute band. She has also made exclusive leather garments for men and women, as well as evening wear.

Now Claire is designing and making her own range of clothing full time. Each garment is made exclusively for the wearer. Claire is happy to make clothing for all shapes and sizes.
